About the Role:
WGMI Labs is looking for a talented and experienced Lead Software Designer with a strong background in UI/UX design, wireframing, and prototyping. As the Lead Software Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of the software products we build for our clients. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create intuitive, user-centered designs that bring our clients' visions to life.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design process from concept to completion, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and final visual design. You will also guide and mentor other designers, ensuring that our design standards are met and that our products are both functional and beautiful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end design process for software and app projects, from initial concept and wireframing to final UI/UX design.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and clients to understand project goals, user needs, and technical requirements.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma, ensuring that designs are user-centered and visually compelling.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs, ensuring that the final product meets user needs and exceeds expectations.
- Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI patterns to ensure consistency across all projects.
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback and support to help them grow and improve their skills.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our design processes.
- Communicate design concepts and decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work across various digital products.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.
- Extensive experience in wireframing, prototyping, and creating high-fidelity designs.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and responsive design.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to translate findings into actionable design improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and rationale to clients and team members.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a design team, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Experience working in an agile development environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a keen eye for detail.
Compensation:
✅ Target base salary of $80,000 - $100,000

What Your First 90 Days Will Look Like:
- Within 30 Days: Get familiar with WGMI Labs' design processes, tools, and current projects. Begin leading the design of smaller projects and start contributing to our design systems and standards.
- Within 60 Days: Take full ownership of design projects, leading the design process from concept to final implementation. Collaborate closely with developers and clients to ensure seamless integration of your designs.
- Within 90 Days: Achieve mastery of our design processes, consistently deliver high-quality designs that exceed client expectations, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our design standards. Begin mentoring junior designers and actively participate in strategic design planning.
