About the Role:

WGMI Labs is seeking a highly skilled and creative Staff Software Designer with a strong focus on UI/UX to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Lead Software Designer to create intuitive, user-centered designs that bring our clients' visions to life. You will be responsible for designing user interfaces, creating wireframes, building prototypes, and ensuring that all design elements align with the overall product strategy.

As a Staff Software Designer, you will be an integral part of the design team, contributing to the creation of visually compelling and user-friendly software products. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate client requirements into actionable design solutions. Your work will directly impact the success of our clients' projects by ensuring that the end product is not only functional but also delightful to use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Software Designer to develop and execute design concepts, wireframes, and prototypes for web and mobile applications.
  • Create high-fidelity UI designs that align with the project goals and provide a seamless user experience.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into intuitive, user-centered designs.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and iterate on designs, ensuring that the final product meets user needs and exceeds expectations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining design systems, style guides, and UI patterns to ensure consistency across all projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our design processes.
  • Participate in design reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our design standards.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work across various digital products.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.
  • Experience in wireframing, prototyping, and creating high-fidelity designs.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and responsive design.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, with the ability to translate findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and rationale to clients and team members.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.

Compensation:

✅ Target base salary of $45,000 - $60,000

💰 Performance-based bonuses and incentives.

What Your First 90 Days Will Look Like:

  • Within 30 Days: Get familiar with WGMI Labs' design processes, tools, and current projects. Begin contributing to ongoing design tasks and start working on smaller design elements under the guidance of the Lead Software Designer.
  • Within 60 Days: Take on larger design responsibilities, collaborating closely with the Lead Software Designer to deliver high-quality UI/UX designs that align with project goals.
  • Within 90 Days: Achieve a deep understanding of our design standards and processes, consistently deliver user-centered designs that exceed client expectations, and actively contribute to the improvement of our design practices.
